The high level of exposure along a busy road presents an interesting contrast to the privacy required by guests in this urban retreat. To protect the privacy of guests in the hotel room a strategy of protection and insulation is employed. Visual and acoustical protection is offered by the use of a hilly green roof which insulates and assures low energy consumption whilst at the same time offering an urban living habitat that would change throughout the year. an undulating landscape of slowly moving wooden poles helps to create an installation on the roof that changes between day and night.
